Give "To Kill A Mockingbird" or "Animal Farm" a try. Those were part of my Freshman curriculum in high school a few years back and are brilliant and suitable for a 14-year-old. If you are mature for your age try "The Catcher in the Rye" maybe. Nice to see someone interested in reading instead of just getting their homework assignments answered.
