I think you have to be 16 or 18. It might depend on where you are at too.. try gettin some info.

The answer to that is almost as varied as the number of institutions that have checking accounts available, such as banks or credit unions. You can be as young as 13 and have $5 minumum balance, and probably younger if there is another name on the account who is older. The best answer is to check with your bank.
