I hate to say this but No. I'm sorry myself to all homosexuals but so is the will of GOD that the homosexuals are damned and not a part of his kingdom. If it were up to me... But it's not.

Yes, absolutely!!! Who are we to judge what person another falls in love with? I think all people should have the same rights. We are a nation built on freedom, established by the bill of rights. But even that document has been edited since it was written so many years ago. The forefathers of our nation thought that slavery was an acceptable way of life, until Abraham Lincoln abolished slavery. It then took our nation over 100 years to allow all colors of people to have the same legal rights...and even now, some people question as to whether or not all people are truly equal. Equal rights to all citizens should include marriage. Do gay/lesbian couples not pay the same taxes you and I do? Their taxes should buy the same rights and freedoms that straight couples are allowed.

Where specifically? Everywhere or just America?

If everywhere, it really wouldn't be for me to say. Dealing in Foreign Policy is the pastime I leave to people who have the luck to be in public offices. But the implications of that question would mean entire upheavals in certain theocratic countries (I'm sure everyone can think of a few) and would cause possibly civil wars and bloodshed.

If in America, it really wouldn't be for me to say either. Dealing in Foreign Policy is the pastime I leave to people who have the luck to be in public offices. But the implications of that question would mean an entire upheaval in the legal systems in those states which pratice sodomy laws (I'm sure everyone can think of a few) and would provide a lot of jobs for people with nothing to do something to do (ie standing in front of the Town Hall of your choice, yelling and having placards saying God hates Fags). Maybe some bloodshed.

Sorry for being flip.

I'm from London, England myself. There is gay marriage here. I have traded not very exciting gifts for not very exciting cake from gay couples. We have some sort of equality system. Not perfect, but its in it's infancy, we can't expect prodigies everywhere. I'm also single, so sometimes I don't see the point. I don't think I want kids now so I don't see the point of adoption rights somehow. And the world seems so unfair sometimes that fairness itself seems like a lost cause. But if one day if I have someone whom I know I would like to spend the rest of my life with, creating a family in the broader sense of the term, I know I would like a piece of legeslation that entitles me to share the tax breaks, the next of kinship and most importantly the social reassurance that we are married and family in it's eyes. So I'm for it and would fight for it.

If you want the social reassurance, I guess you would too.

No. Marriage by definition is the union of a couple. It dilutes the meaning of marriage to do sam sex couples. Gay couples can enter into a contracted union and gain all the privileges of marriage. Leave the M word to those who who have a historic and religious legacy to value it.

If we have to yield to such arbitrary social demands, where does it stop? For those that are committed to beastiality, do we allow people to marry their dogs or horses? How about the chronic masturbator who wants to marry their hand? Sound outragious? Not much different than people of the same sex screwing each other, to me and many others.

We are so busy looking for the rights of every individual that we forget the rights of others.

Y not? They are people to. This country is founded on freedom and why shouldn't we all have the same fundamental rights? I don't understand why so many people are so against it, why can't people just mind there own business and let everyone else live there life. Yes I know the bible says marriage is between a man and a woman but doesn't the bible only serve one religion...Christianity? Well this is a country of many religions. People came to America to escape religious persecution and now we are falling back into those old ways. It will only take time before it is OK, just like it took time to allow woman to have the right to vote and it took time to abolish slavery and give them there rights.

If you want to punish Gays and Lesbians force them to get married...then they'll see how miserable 60-70 % of the heterosexual married couples are. They'll be begging for a Constitutional Marriage Ban.

OF COURSE! They are humans, just like us. If they like the same gender and want to get married, so be it. This is America. Shouldn't everyone be free to marry who they want? And not have to worry about discrimination because they are gay/lesbian? It's just rude if states don't allow same sex marriage. I'm straight, and I think everywhere in the U.S, same sex marriage should be permitted.

Yes they should be able to marry and love who they love... at least they love someone other than themselves.... they are people too with the same needs and feelings!

Silenceis... Ducttapei...whatver it is: If all sins are suposedly equal in the eyes of god... don't you find it a bit strange that a passage in the bible contradicts this when it comes to homosexual men? And even more it specifically singles out men and not women... why would God be like that??? Smells like the mechanation of a scripture changing biggot to me.

Marriage is a political institution created by man.

Why should only strait men and women have to suffer through marrige. Gays deserve to suffer just as much as anyone else.

But in reality why should it be against the law for two consenting adults to get married if they want it? Who are we to tell other people how to live their lives.

2006-11-27 14:02:43 · answer #9 · answered by Shea 1 · 2 2

Yes. Why? Because they are people too and they obviously love each other in order to want to get married. Gays and lesbians are our cousins, friends, parents, brother's and sisters, aunts and uncles, etc. They are in every family is what I'm trying to say. Let's stop treating them like aliens just because they don't fall in with love with the opposite sex.
