I have a 2002 GMC Envoy with 110,000 miles that idles very low when in gear and in drive or park when brakes applied. It idles fine when I put it in park and it idles fine when I drive. The dealer didn't find any codes and said they didn't find anything wrong.

I don't know what it could be, but I want to know what others may think.

Thanks

A car naturally idles low when it is in gear because it is under a load. Doing work like it is supposed to. Lemme guess....bout 500 ain't it? Mine does the same. Is 1000 when in park or neutral. It will be fine. Find the idle screw if you are really nervous bout it and turn it while the car is running and put it where you think it sounds good.

sounds like you may need an intake cleaning. if you dont clean your intake every 15k miles or so, you get carbon buildup that starts to block the process of burning fuel properly. so its not a dramatic problem, but when you put it in gear with the brakes on, the load on the engine naturally drops the RPMs, but with the intake dirty, its kinda starving the engine just a little more, thus the RPMs drop lower
