Wow, I hope no one assumes BigBeefy's answer is really indicative of the Christian perspective.

People are born with an innate sense of right and wrong. This is why there are so many cross-cultural legal similarities. Religion is one of the most important factors in writing laws. Laws are usually based on the behavior a culture considers "normal." Across different cultures throughout human history men and women share many equalities and some dissimilarities. Many of these equalities and dissimilarities have their roots in the culture's religious practices and priorities.

As for the Christian perspective, the Bible clearly teaches many contexts of equality and some contexts of dissimilarity. Among modern American evangelical theologians gender-related texts are studied and conclusions are drawn placing people in two different camps. Egalitarians emphasize the biblical equalities and complementarians emphasize the biblical dissimilarities/uniquenesses. While some Christians of the simple-minded variety may make rash statements regarding all women being perfectly equal or unequal with men, the truth of the matter is, most every Christian acknowledges the essential equality of men and women, while the disagreement is over what roles they have in the home and in the church.

First of all in Christianity the belief that Adam and Eve were
the symbols of good and Evil, woman caused Adam to Sin!
she is the root to dis-obedience from presenting choice
to Adam. God created Man first and this action within it,s
self dictated that Man was to be the leader and guardian
of the woman. A woman should not try to be equal to a man?
first of all its physically impossible and goes against Gods law.
She came from Adams rib and has lesser power than her
male counter part. Her role is to be a mother and care taker
of her man and honor him, aggressive behavior towards her
husband is unholy and unfeminine. The stem of the rose is
laden with thorns but the heart of the rose has perfume
and nurturing plumage. Woman's liberation sadly has hurt
females by feminizing them and destroying their natural
order in the frame work of society. They have no penis and
will never have a penis so saying they are equal is foolish
and insane. Men are bigger stronger and powerful): she was
not created to battle her mate but to comfort him. That's why
the American house hold is so dis functional due to females rejecting their roles within the family structure. Children need
only one father and mother going off to fight in the war is
totally ridiculous and abhorrent, either females return to the
laws of Almighty God? or we will surely parish as a Nation.

please excuse the words flowing out of their casing? its due
to the computer compressing system.
