I need to know the day, month, and year Ireland became independant. Like July 4th, 1776 is the U.S. 's independance day, what is Ireland's? Thank you!

December 6, 1922. (The Republic of Ireland). Northern Ireland is still under British Leadership. I've visited there recently and the Northerners seem to want to keep it that way, while the people of the Republic want Independence from Britain for their whole country. (I still have alot of relative living in Ireland).
