I have to write a critical analysis on the book that I have read. Do you put actual quotes from the novel into the critical analysis? If so would I just put the page number at the end of the quote without the authors last name?

Ya, you can use the quote from the book, just mentioning the page number is enough as this is the critical analysis of that particular book, name of the author need not be mentioned...............

You could use quotes to back up your arguments, you dont have to. If you only are using one source for the whole paper, you can just use page numbers.
