I was very moved when I noticed a friend of mine, who really doesn't like to get out of her house, had taken the trouble to come to my dad's funeral......it meant a lot to me.

Friend - The nicest thing anyone ever did for me was to drive an old car in bad shape with no tag or insurance a hundred miles to rescue me with no more than a smile, the sound of a voice and the promise of not being alone to go on for both of us. GB PS - We are still together.

about 12 years ago I was pumping gas by myself on night in the middle of winter...freezing my a** off...and the cars were non-stop... Money was TIGHT...and I had no gloves on.
A customer drove up, and when he saw my hands, asked me if i had gloves..i said no and he offered me his ...And I was so embarrassed that i didn't have any, that i thanked him but refused to take them. i finished pumping his gas and ran inside to get the credit card slider...after he had paid and left i realized he had got out of his truck and left the gloves on the gas pump for me.
What a doll. Things were so tough back then, having someone do that for ME...will stay with me forever.

My husband kicked me and our kids out of our house and kept the car. Some dear friends of mine gave me a car that they had just recently bought to resale (it was worth about $4000) and my adult daughter and her husband let us crash in her small 2 bedroom home. I will never forget either of these families for what they did. By the way, I still have the car and it still runs great (5 years), and my kids and I own the house he kicked us out of.

I once had no money to board a bus because my purse had been stolen, had no keys or anything.
Because of the kindness of a stranger who gave me a $1.75 to board the bus to get home that day, gave me hope again on mankind and I never saw that guy ever again...
