I was gonna go with Bryan Adams, but lookin at others, I am gonna have to say Prince too. Bryan Adams sings a song that has that in its chorus, but if it sounds like MJ then it's probably Prince.

Well the Eagles singer, Timothy B. has a song with; I will die for you, climb the highest mountain, baby there's nothing I wouldn't do. etc... The song is Love Will Keep Us Alive. If that's the song, then I believe he did it back in the 70's maybe early 80's.
