Open IE, go to Help at the top and 'About Internet Explorer'

Click on Help at the top of IE and choose About..you will see the version number

Click on "Help" in the menu bar at the top of the screen and click "About Internet Explorer." A window will pop up with information about IE. Somewhere it should say "Internet Explorer version X.XXXX."
