never had postpartum hair loss after my 1st daughter's birth. But my second daughter is 3 months old and I loose hair by the handfulls! It won't stop! Oh my goodness!

I KNOW IT'S NORMAL!

But did you experience it, and when did it stop?

it happened with my first child and i didnt know it was normal.i was pulling handfuls of hair out while crying at the same time.it stopped being so dramatic about 4 or 5 months after i had him.it gets better trust me and you wont go bald!!its because your hair doesnt fall out as much when youre pregnant and then when you have the baby it all falls out at once!so imagine how much hair you lose on a daily bases piling up for 9 months then falling out at once!

I had this happen with my first, but not with the second. I think it ended around 5 months. I thought I was going to go bald! I do believe it has to do with the drop in progesterone after the baby is born. Hang in there. My hair is a bit thinner than it was before the first's birth, but it is still nice and thick. Best of luck. I am due in one week with baby number 3 and hoping I don't go through the hair loss again;-)

This happened to me on the right side of my head. I had to change the way that I parted my hair to hide my "male pattern baldness." It started growing back in three weeks after I stopped breastfeeding. I think the most important thing is to continue the prenatal vitamins after birth (even if you aren't breastfeeding) for a couple of weeks. If you are breastfeeding, keep the vitamins going and eat a lot of protein.

Wow i remember, it took a toll on me, thought i would go bald! get on a vitamin, or take some of your prenatal vits if you have any left, it will last a few months, but then everything starts to get back in order, good luck

Yep! It didn't fal out with my first child, but with my second it would come out in handfuls! So bad I went to the doctor and he discovered I had an underactive Thyroid. Now I take medication.
