I have hazel eyes also and I like dark mocha for the crease, light yellowy cream on the lid, and almost white on the brow bone and in the inner corner of my eye (makes 'em look wider and prettier).
I like neutral tones for shadow myself, but I really like to play around w/ eyeliner.
Did you know that hazel eyes will look more green if you use a purple-ish eyeliner? (natural tones such as berry or wine~~not gaudy purple!).

To compliment any eye color and make the eyes "pop" it's best to look across the color wheel from your eye and select the opposite (or contrasting) shades. Hazel eyes can look greenish/brown to greenish/amber. Not knowing what color hazel you have here are some suggestions. Stay with earthtones, bronzey-coppers, and plum/purple selections. If you use green shades at all, keep them more on the "natural" side such as moss & forest greens and kahki. Here are some brands and colors that work with hazel eyes:
MAC: Bronze, Shroom, Haux, Trixie, Mulch, Coppering
Laura Mercier: Hazelnut, Whiskey, American Coffee, Cognac
Stila: Kitten, Barefoot Contessa, Eden, Heath
Bobbie Brown: Bobbi Brown Bone, Taupe, Stone, Heather, Shell, Petal
Remember to keep it to reddish-browns and plummy purples and your eyes will really stand out.

Almay has a nice eyeshadow trio that are made for hazel eyes...you should try....its a very natural look..but makes your eyes stand out.
Other colors that aren't in the trio; bronze, plums (really bring out the green in eyes), light green, rose
