Ummm. It is a possibility...
I am a White Sox fan myself... And I think it is reasonable to say the Sox will do BETTER.
But your reasoning is not that accurate.
The Twins will not do bad, simply because Liriano is out.
The Tigers, nor will any team ever play bad "due to frustration"
The thing the Sox need is a new coach. I hate to admit it as I was always a great fan for Oz, he was the only coach in the league who was one with his team, and he did not just sit in the corner of the dugout, speechless. He was standing up talking and laughing with his guys. But this past season he lost a lot of game for them with stupid decisions, mostly concerning pitching changes, changing too late or putting the wrong guy in at the wrong time.
Another reason I think the Sox will not improve drastically, is because they made no real changes. In order for a team to go from a poor season to a good one, is to make off-season changes. Which has not yet happened yet (Cotts gone, thats a start). Now that Soriano is out of the market the Sox are in a jam.
Expect them to be in the running this year, though.

You'll compete but your pitchers will tank in the second half for the third straight year. Better hope you have a solid enough lead in the division before it happens. You also get no production in center and left field which needs to be addressed.
The Twins won the division even with Liriano out half the season, remember he only won the team 12 games. The Tigers and frustration comment bares no real evidences. And don't dismiss cleveland, they have a potent offense and good, young pitching staff. I'm willing to admit the AL central is probably the toughest division even with KC as everybody's whipping boy.

The White Sox have questions in their pitching area. Contreras is a year older so is Buerhle and Garland and they may not be on the team by the start of the season. The management has stated that no-one is untouchable for a trade. Pitching wins championships and so far the Tigers pitching is loads better than the Sox and the Twins still have a good one in Santana.

Maybe, but that would mean that the White Sox season would be a bust, a fake, an undeserving division title (if they win it) since your said the Tigers will not do good because of frustration, and the Twins don't got Radke or Liriano.

Since the chisox have pretty much the same team from last year, i expect them to be much better than last year because even though the chemistry was good between the players on the 05 ws team and the new players, i didn't think they had enough time no mesh and feel each other, and now that this team has a full year under their belt, i think they will be alot better. Also, there is one thing that can cause them not win the division is if they keep going away from their small ball roots. Basically, they reason the chisox did not win the division is because they got lazy when they realized that they had thome, konerko and the rest scoring runs in bunches. yes, the power ball method is good but they need to improve on their execution, such as leaving guys on, inconsistent relief pitching, err. starting pitching for that matter, among other things. but basically, if they return to their small ball roots, and add a little power here and there, and the pitching comes back, i think they will be ok.

Well first of all, they didn't do bad, they were just in the toughest division in baseball, something had 2 give. I agree i personally think they are the best team there, like you said about the Twins but they are still lethal don't take them for granted. Also i was one of those ppl who coulden't believe that the Tigers were that good, i expect them to slip up a little. So yeah the White Sox are still a force 2 be recking with, also they have pitching they can trade so they have alot of power.

I have been a lifelong ChiSox fan, and I won't underestimate Kenny Williams to pull a few strings this off season. Here is what I think will happen:
1) One of the current starters will be traded. Whether it be Garland, Garcia, or even Buehrle, Williams wasn't happy with our starting pitching last season, nor should he be.
2) Bullpen. Williams will add a good veteran arm. Much like he did with Politte in '05.
3) Scotty Pods might be moved. With Jerry Owens, Ryan Sweeney, Brian Anderson, and Josh Fields waiting in the wings, Pods becomes expendable. Possibly for a decent starter.
I look for the Sox to be near the top again this season. Remember, we were 20 games over .500 this season. Any other divsion in baseball, minus the NL East, we win it.
I'll say 94 wins. Central Champs. From there, who knows?

I think you're smoking crack, mister man.
First, you cant automatically discount The Twins. They have a good team and always find ways to win.
Second, the "frustration" (or choke job, whatever you want to call it) only makes The Tigers that much more motivated. That experience will help them the next time they reach the world series. You have to remember they got Gary Sheffield, and he will only improve on out offense.
Third, what have the whinny sux done? Made a trade with The Cubs, thier "arch enemy"? WOW! I am so scared of them!
*heavy sarcasm*
The Chicago whinny sux will be lucky if they win 85 games in 2007. Plain & Simple, the whinny sux suck.

published this question in teh incorrect area, yet being a White Sox fan, i'm going to enable that one slide lol. particularly everyone desires to realize that the sox are for actual....the components is getting warm in chicago and the ball is flying out of the park. to not point out that the White Sox performed the main highway video games of ANY team in baseball, they are enjoying something like 17 of their next 27 at abode. they have beat up on the Twins, Tigers and Royals this year....you may desire to triumph over communities on your individual branch. Statistically they have the final pitching workforce (the two beginning and bullpen) interior the majors. they have the main "high quality starts off" of any beginning pitching workforce. they are going to be a tension to be dealt with down the stretch.

They made a remarkable run. Let's hope it lasts longer than the San Francisco Dusty Baker era peak did.
BTW I think Pierzinski is a loose cannon that will meet his match one day when he has injured one too many home plate sliders and a teammate to that injured player takes revenge.
