Yesterday my friend and i were in a grocery store when i found a wallet in the cart that i'd gotten. The wallet had almost 900.00 dollars in it and a man's driver's license and 3 credit cards. I said to my friend that i am going to turn this in to the service desk because i know this guy is probably sick that he lost his wallet. Well, to my amazement, my girl wanted us to take the cash out of the wallet and keep it and just turn the wallet in! I was shocked at her cause i have been knowing her for 8 years now and i had no idea she was even capable of doing something like that. I told her i'm not goimg to keep this man's money, no way! I told her what if it was you or i that lost this? Wouldn't we want someone to turn it in? She just said well, if you lose something like that you really can't expect to get it back. I ended up getting his address of the license and i took it back to him in person. This man was so happy that he gave me 100.00 dollars and thanked me religously!

But as for my friend, how can i trust her? I thought i knew her well, but i guess i didn't. She even got a little angry with me because i wouldn't keep the money. Is it time to cut her loose as a friend? Or am i overreacting?

No miss bravo, i'm not looking for any praise. God gives me all the praise i need! But what i am looking for is some suggestions on how to deal with a friend like this! That's all!

You have no idea what that $900 could have meant to him. It could have been rent, could have been back child support. There was just a suicide in my state, the guy had lost his job and his bills were piling up. He felt despondent. You did the right thing. If your friend ever loses something of value, she will know what it is like.

You did the right thing. Good for you for being so honest! You never know what your friends are really like huh. That man may have really needed that money too for his medications, food, shelter.

Well, friends can act weird sometimes...but thats just rediculous! So, she's never acted like that before? That is so odd! You are a very good person! You're friend doesn't really sound like a good trustworthy person.

Some people just do not follow the older beliefs of helping they neighbor and do unto other as they would do unto you. Good for you returning it. That's what i would have done myself so i would hope someone would do that for me. Course i barley have ten bucks in my purse but you know where i am coming from.

I'm disappointed in your friend and I don't even know her. It's people like that that you just can't trust at all. Thank you for being honest. The world needs more people like that.

People surprise you sometimes, even when you think you know them. I've had friends do things I thought they werent capable of and they are no longer my friends...even after years of friendship.
