Friend Sam - Going back to grade school, perception is the result of the incoming information from our five senses. I perceive it is dark if no lights are on. I perceive that a rose smells good when I sniff it. I think you get what I am saying. Now if someone did not like the smell of a rose, their perception would not be the same as mine...and so on and so on....GB

Perception is what a person believes they see. Two people in the same situation can see it totally different ways.

Using perception is how most corporations make their worst decisions.

Take care,

Your perception is how you see things, and basically what you think about them when you see them. For example, you and I might see the same thing visually: like maybe an old man with a beard and ragged clothes on the street with a sign asking for money. I might perceive him as a worthless bum, and think he needs to get a job. You, on the other hand, might perceive him to be a guy who, through no fault of his own, needs help, and still deserves respect. Our perceptions are shaped by our upbringing mostly, and by what we are taught by others. Racism is another example of perception. It's all about what your "opinion" is when you see something.

The process through which we experience.... The main tool is the life 'energy' ... where ever it is focused, and the level of perception being the level we evolve upto !
See, even simple things, like "where do we hear the TV?".... at the speakers of the set?; at our ear drum?; or the brain after processing of sound waves through the auditory nerve system?... well, when asleep, we retain the hearing ability and yet 'fail' to hear, also, when lost in thoughts, we see, yet do not 'see' ! And so on..... all this points to a common element our own alertness driven by the sense of awareness, enhanced by our levels of perception !

What is Perception?
Perception is our sensory experience of the world around us and involves both the recognition of environmental stimuli and actions in response to these stimuli. Through the perceptual process, we gain information about properties and elements of the environment that are critical to our survival. Perception not only creates our experience of the world around us; it allows us to act within our environment.

to my way of thinking, perception is the vision of an ideal or subject mentally created from a given description, which can vary from one individual to another depending on their personal point of view. for instance if you said "the sun is extremely hot today" an eskimo moght think it is going to be uncomfortably hot, whereas a hawaiin islander might think "oh well just another normal day"
