whenever you print something the printing properties are always on color and standard. is there a way to change the defaults to whatever you want, so i dont have to keep going into properties everytime, cause i mostly print in B/W. i tried making a profile but that doesnt change the defaults. thanks

Just take the color cartridge out.

There are two ways to set the print options for things one is from the software (Word, etc) the other is the printer itself. To set you defaults you have to set the values on the printer through Control Panel Printer Properties.

The values you set in the printer properties are its DEFAULTS and can be overridden by the software values so you can set it up for a special case.

Depending on your printer...

You need to find the printer's settings (some allow black only printing) and change to what you want. Set them as default settings (different printers--different ways to do it.)
