I've had that happen when I smashed my finger and yeah it's just a blood bubble under your skin from the bruise. You don't have to do anything to it but it can take quite a while to go away. As long it's not too big I wouldn't worry too much!

Couldn't hurt to have it checked out. It's probably a "compartment" bruise, meaning the blood that leaked out of the vessels into the tissue (that's what causes the bruise) is sort of walled off from the rest of the system, and the blood has decayed (that's why its black).
I wouldn't play around with it, but a clinic or doctor could probably help lance it correctly to drain out the dead blood.

An ordinary bruise should be healed by now. Could be a blood clot or a hematoma. Any event you should get it checked out to make sure. By the way, blood doesn't die, tissue does.

If it's been a few weeks, It should have healed by now.
If it hurts or is warm to the touch- you should see a dr.
Otherwise warm wet heat should help dissolve the "bruise" under the skin in a few days.

sounds like a blood blister--old blood is usually dark brown to black--it probably will reabsorb
but notify your doctor if you see any signs of infection. Good Luck!!
