It served it's purpose--the libs won. Time to celebrate their contribution to the victory.

Actually, it amazed me the way that liberal politicians were silent and did not use it as an election issue. As a result, they were elected. Nothing more has been said about the Mark Foley incident since the election. The only real obsession with others sex life is the conservative media and the conservative politicians. Looks like the chickens have come to roost. Plus, it is now being revealed that many of the lower level republican workers that work for the republican party are gay.

It's old news...and doesn't stack up against real issues and situations...like the growing civil unrest in Iraq, and the increasing trouble in Lebanon. FYI: Foley was in an alcohol rehab clinic, the priest he accused of molesting him denied it because "taking a shower or bath" with a teen-aged boy is normal behavior (for Catholic priests, I guess!). Last I heard, however, another man also accused the same priest of molestation. None of these things excuse Foley's acts. But at least it seems to show *now* he's telling the truth.

What happened to the republicans concern over the whole matter? I bet if it were your kid he was trying to seduce you wouldn't be so glib about the matter. This question is almost as despicable as Foley. It implies a non-caring attitude about how our elected officials act when in office. The republicans are still in control of our government, that's what happened. It's all been swept under the rug. They talk a good game, but are horrible on results.

how long would you like the media to harp on this issue? It's yesterday's news. Fortuitous that it came out with perfect timing for the Dem's right before the last election- but that doesn't change what he did. One bad apple didn't spoil the last election for the right- the Republicans didn't produce what they promised on quite a number of fronts- and integrity was just one of them. It wasn't one more gay bashing, right wing hypocrite that changed the election results, it was a long list.

I dont think anyone was obsessed. The Florida police are investigating Foley. he resigned. Are you suggesting that we re-examine Foley and the GOP conspiracy of silence?
