if you know that the roman empire was split into the western empire and the eastern empire what was the capital of the western part of the empire? I know that the eastern parts capital was Constantinople i JUSST NEED THE WESTERN PARTS CAPITAL!!!!!! thankyou for your help!

Rome actually remained the capital of the Western Roman empire. Milan and Ravenna also served as the capital. The Capital of the Eastern Empire was Constantinople.

Rome stayed the capital of the Western half.....
Constantinople was the capital of the East....

I think you may be referring to the period of time when the empire was divided as much by religion as by territory. Check out the link below and Pope Leo I. Gaul is your target I think. good luck.

i think it was still Rome. doesn't seem very "west" to us, but it did to them i guess!
