Ok .. I even bought the recovery cd for it - but ,, How do I make it find the cd drive before it goes into windows?

format it .then install the recovery and you are done!

If you are running Windows XP it should virtually run itself. But if your PC is not booting from the CD Rom drive, enter your BIOS, this option should be presented to you when you start your machine. Then advanced options, look for the boot sequence and change it so it will boot from a cd drive first.

To reformat a computer, put the Windows XP cd in the CD drive and boot the computer. From there, you will be instructed to reformat the computer and then re-install windows.

To make it boot from the CD first
start your computer and eneter system setup.
F2, Del etc.. Then look for Boot Sequence just cahnge it to CD ROM first.

most of the time you put in the disk and open it but also are you reformatting the hard drive
