Yes, the brain is just a computer & the body is but a space vehicle that we need to function in this alien environment, The brain is the star trek ships computer & Holadek. We are the life that animates the body and we monitor and will through the computer brain. "God dwells within you as you". It could be said that all things are but a very sophisticated holographic expression of Gods vision of himself.

I agree with you that, in regards to the building blocks of how we function, or our "hardware" to use computer lingo, IS in many ways similar to that of computers. Like you said, the nucleotide bases of TA & CG, which can only be paired in two ways, is like a binary system. And our brains, like a CPU chip does, takes input in from raw data and processes it. And our memory kind of works the same way too! We could equate our longterm, old memories to stuff on a PC's harddrive, and our everyday, functioning memory would be like RAM.
But the one BIG difference is our ability to reason, to make decisions NOT based on pure information, but our "gut" instinct. This is what the computer guys trying to produce AI call fuzzy logic. Also, another big difference: we can have love and compassion, which I don't think a PC program will ever be able to duplicate.

Absolutely.
A human body basically acts as a computer.
We have input(visual, audio, smell, etc). It is processed by the CPU -- the brain. and we have the output -- muscle motion.
The brain functions basically as an array of logical gates -- neurons fire in certain successions. Exactly the way the signal goes through the computer processor.
The only difference is that for now human brain is MUCH more complex then any computer assembled.

I think, therefore I am. Keep in mind the uniqueness of this planet in the solar system--teeming with all sorts of life, intelligent or otherwise. Could it be that we're just a part of the evolution of the computer as it rises in the primordial soup of research laboratories around the world in universities and corporations? I call your initial question an idea that fits into a theory I call radical materialism--the idea that everything can be reduced to its physical reality, even people. It doesn't leave much room for God, however. We learn as we go. Keep thinking; keep the faith.

Maybe that has to do with the universal order. All existence really is in essence is stimuli-response.

In that sence, I guess we could be considered "computers". But ask yourself: "Aren't all computers technically humans?" And you get the point.
