The average age is 12.5.
You can expect to start your period around the same size as your closest female maternal relatives.
If you have underarm hair and vaginal secretions, you can probably expect your period in about 18 months.

Your period can start at 9 and 10 years old or 13 and 14 years old or more. If you haven't started by the age of 15, I would go to the doctor to be checked out but that doesn't mean you have anything to worry about. I was a late 13 and my daughter was 10. Not to worry.

It can start as early as 8 or 9 years old, and as late as 15 or 16.
Girls who do a lot of heavy athletics (like training for the Olympics) may not start until much later.

THe avg age is 12.5 - I was 9- and not happy about it- a friend of mine was 16 and that is a bit late-it varies and that is normal-S
