internet problem?

okay so my internet works on evertthing as long as i searched the url in yahoo search or whatever im using is a yahoo thingy. but when i type somethign int he url bar such as"www.barnesandnoble.com"
it says internet explorer has found aproblem and needs to close.
how do i fix it?

This issue can be due to number of reasons 1)Corrupt internet browser 2)Spyware/adware changed settings 3) Windows problem.

I guess it is internet explorer problem for your case.Since internet explorer comes with windows, it can't be repaired independently. It gets repaired either by windows repair install or by windows update for new version.

Now, the easiest solution is to update internet explorer. Which version of internet explorer you are using ? if you are using IE6, i strongly recommend to upgrade to IE7 for free!(http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx ).
At the same time, i would recommend that you install good firewall(like zonealarm), spyware remover(like adaware se personal edition and spybot search-destroy). these are great products that will protect from such problems.

The best suggestion I will give is to try alternate browser like Opera(www.opera.com) or firefox(www.firefox.com). i personally highly recommend to try Opera as it is fast, small size with all featured bundled and most secured(see its track record http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_web_browsers#Vulnerabilities).
The best part is that you can repair/fix it independently in few seconds if required. Also, you can change the way it looks with nice colorful skins etc. definitely worth a try.

The reason i recommended alternate browser because I want a long term solution of your problem. You will not have to think about it at all.
In the short term, get IE7 and you are good to go. If you already have Ie7, you can download IE7 again and install again. then problem will be fixed.

open a tab and then cancel it and it has been fixed temporarely.
