Three Witches, control or not?

I have to write a paper on whether or not the witches really had control over macbeth, i believe that they did because everything they said came true im just having troubles really explainig exactly why... can anyone help me?

Well, I haven't read the book yet, but I did see the play. My outlook is just like yours, and the witches did control the play. I think that the witches put a spell on Macbeth which also effected Lady Macbeth. Remember that scene when they took him and made him drink that liquid. That's the double double toil and trouble part. Well, that's when the troubles conjured. I believe they did this to Macbeth because he killed the king so he could become king. I am not sure if I have helped or not, but the outcome was that all of the people who died was from the craziness that was Macbeth. Lady Macbeth died from the curse and the whole play based it's self off of what was happening to Macbeth and Lady Macbeth and what they did. Soo, that all started with the Witches. That's all I can say, I'm sorry if I didn't help. Happy writing:]

The three witches are sometimes referred to as the "weird sisters." Yes, they are pretty weird I admit. "Weird" comes from an Middle English word which means "fate," or "destiny," and I would think Shakespeare knew this.

Macbeth is in charge of his own fate, but he listens to the weird sisters and decides to change his destiny.

Does that mean that the three witches have control over Macbeth? Yes, in as much as we all have any control over our own fate.

Lady Macbeth uses shame and sexuality. The witches play to Macbeth's ambition.

If you want to prove your answer right you need to have proof on every little detail like in science you can't just declare the moon is flat just because you want to you need research thought and skill to find a creative and conving way to show it.
