1) I may be off-base here, but I don't believe you'll ever find Bush saying that Saddam Hussein had anything to do with 9-11.
2) that's entirely plausible. What hard evidence could exist that Osama bin Laden is linked? The people who perpetrated the attack are all dead because it was a suicide attack. It's not like you can find bin Laden's fingerprints on a gun somewhere.
3) I don't know what pics you're referring to.
4) I'm not aware that I ever believed there was
the people who attacked are the ?18? Hijackers on four airplane flights. Who gave these hijackers the money? This fact is what is verifiable by the FBI. Where did these terrorists train? This fact is verifiable.
We know that Osama bin Laden funded terrorists and trained terrorists. We know that terrorists want to kill innocent people. Therefore we must stop Osama bin Laden and anyone else who promotes terrorism in any way.

First, Bush has never tied Iraq to 9/11. He has referred to as Saddam a terrorist (which he became) and wanting to bypass after terrorists contained in the conflict on Terror. because he commonly talked about Saddam, terrorism, 9/11, and Bin encumbered, it really is basic to imagine Bush claimed Iraq had something to do with it. although, he by no ability did. i'd question #2 and #3. The 9/11 fee element the finger to Bin encumbered. you're the first human being i have ever heard imagine that it wasn't Bin encumbered. There are links b/w Saddam and Bin encumbered. Did they dine with one yet another? No. Did Bin encumbered's lackey's communicate with Hussein's lackey's? sure. Bin encumbered attacked us. Al Queda attacked us. To imagine otherwise is to fall right into a similar conspiracy approach that persons have even as they imagine that Bush flew the airplanes into the Pentagon and WTC.

Tell him it's because Bush lies. He has repeated countless times all over the nation that Hussein had "connections" or "ties" to bin Laden or al Qaeda in order to gain support for the initial invasion and in order to maintain support for the war and the party conducting it. The fact is that the neoconservative movement has been looking for a terrorist attack in the U.S. to justify invading Iraq for years. The only connection between 9/11 and Iraq is the implied connection by the Bush administration... often by simple association, when he says we need to keep fighting in Iraq because of 9/11 or to prevent a 9/11 or connects the war in Iraq to the war on terror, or simply by mentioning both things within the same paragraph of a speech. Just tell your son that politicians lie, and sometimes a nation goes to war because of those lies.

1. We were going to invade Iraq before 9-11 happened. The invasion of Iraq came because of these reasons.
Saddam wanted WMD. He had in the past used them. Israel blew up his breeder reactor or he'd had nukes and used them against Iran long before the first gulf war.
Our "allies" in the region saw Saddam as a threat and wanted him gone. So did many of our enemies.
Saddam kicked out our inspectors and openly threatened war against the US. Provocative speech after provocative speech followed by Iraqi missles being fired at US aircraft.
Saddam murdered millions of his own people.
War with Iraq was unavoidable as long as Saddam and the Bath party remained in control.
.2 That is a surprise to me. I have seen much evidence pointing to El Quida or however you spell it in connection with 9-11 including convictions in Germany of co-conspirators in the plots. In fact the first trial resulted in dropped charges because the US refused to release evidence. When the evidence was released then a conviction was secured. So we DO have convincing evidence of 9-11 being an El Quida op.
.3 No idea if that is true. That is the first I heard of it being a forgery. Then again there is doubt as to whether Bin Ladin is actually alive still. The tape is consistant with other Bin Ladin releases. If it was a forgery then so too are his other releases and the whole El Quida movement. So if it was forged I suspect it was El Quida which did so to protect Bin Ladin or keep the illusion of his health or even death a secret.
4. Bin Ladin hated Saddam. There is no reason to believe there was a link. Saddam was a minor supporter of terrorists. Occasional funding, more cheerleading than anything else. Most terrorist groups despise Saddam because of his secular rule. Saddam though he not Allah was God. This offended Islamic fanatics.
We attacked Iraq for this reason. If a man shoots one of his own family. Then tells you he has a gun and wants to shoot you and your family. It is your duty to do what it takes to prevent that. In this case it was kicking down the door and incarcerating the maker of the threat. Iraq used chemical weapons on both Iranians and it's own people. It repeatedly attempted nuclear programs and was rumored to be involved in biological weapon research. Saddam was a threat to every living human being on the planet.
As to why we are still in Iraq, that is a stickier issue. We did what we set out for. We got Saddam and took the Bath party out of power. We even created the first free election possibly in Iraqi history. Far as I'm concerned we were done then and should have started pulling out as soon as that was accomplished leaving only a small force to back up the Iraqi army should Iraq be invaded by Syria, Iran or from within such as the Baths attempting a military coup. The rest is their biz and they resent us for our meddling. In the earlier analogy it's like we have become an unwanted room mate in a very contencious house. Overstayed our welcome. Now leaving will look like we were run out. This will invite future attacks on us. If we stay we make things worse.
So do not confuse the noble intentions we entered Iraq on with the mess we've made when attempting to put forth an agenda. Nor can Bush's private motivations be injected into what we as a nation saw as necessary and right to do. Bush's private motivations only come into play AFTER we accomplished our stated goals.

Conspiracy theories are just that...theories with no basis in fact.
Then, after showing the Popular Mechanics report, have him watch the Obsession videos. Guaranteed to be an eye-opener.

amazing how clearly someone who doesn't get their news from FOX, Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, etc. can see. Tell him the painful truth. The people of the U.S. were lied too by the President and none of us know for sure why we are in Iraq other than for the profit of corporations friendly to this Administration. I pray your child never has to tell his 16 year old the something like this.
