You probably think pet stores are good places to work if you like animals.. sadly this is not true... I learned the hard way = pet stores EXPLOIT PETS for profit.. they are in the business of making money NOT carring for animals.. they will sell any pet to any buyer..
YOU will not be working with the animals you will be cleaning cages and helping people.. you will be lying to them to get a sale.. you will be the enemy of real animal lovers... you will not be helping pets.. you will be supporting a business that supports puppy mills (very cruel) and doesnt care where the pets come from or where they go - only cares about money
if you love animals and want to work with them start by volunteering at your local SPCA or humane society.. they may even hire you at some point.. this is hard work but its a true labor of love.. becuase you have the best interest of the animals at the top always.. even on sad days you know that you are not intentionally causing animals to suffer so you can make money or so that your "store" can make money...

Thirteen is too young in any state. Some states will allow kids as young as fifteen in very special circumstances.
Sadly a thirteen year old girl is pretty limited to light babysitting and maybe some light yard work.

In most cases, you must be at least 16. Call the store and ask.
