I was able to find a job by widening my scope. Everyone was applying with these large firms during mass interviews. So I looked at small to medium firms with a solid history in their industry. I got hired and after talking to my friends who landed the jobs at the large mega corporate cube worlds... I get paid more, have comparable benefits, and better chance of being promoted.
I would look through your local or regional business newpaper magazine and you can get some good insight into companies who you may not have thought about. Small businesses usually give a good place to grow and see you as more than just a number.
Good luck on your search...
(Yes I do have 4 yr degree and didn't even finish my resume until 4 wks before I graduated!)
