Alimony is support paid to an ex-spouse for living expenses. The person who provided the most (or sometimes the one who had all) the income to the household.

Alimony is when the husband pays his ex-wife an amount of money every month for a period of time after a divorce (may be until he/she passes away). My step-dad was paying it to his ex-wife for about 3-4 years but then they had an agreement that if he would let her have his half of the house so she could sell it, she would drop the alimony, which she did.

If she quit school or could not attend school because of your marriage then you will need to pay alimony. If she can support herself then you should not have to pay any.

alimony is when you marry some one and you are married for a certant amout of time and you get divorced and who ever makes more money has to pay the one who makes less money.

To keep the woman in a lifestyle she is accustomed to.... But if the ex husband is accustomed to sex 3 times a week, shouldn't that be granted as well?

for example if one spouse works and not the other so the spouse has to give money to the one not working so they can settle down or easier terms financial help
