It's a pretty simple setup. The program will run everything that is needed and you should be online right after the installation. But on line play is limited. Try Halo-2 on a old used xBox. It is fantastic. Or if you've got the money go for the xBox 360 (not the core set go for the premium). For the money and amount of time you will spend on it, it is worth it!

Basically, it sorta runs a lot like the xbox version. I don't think you need to have that gamespy arcade to play online at all, it's just some free program that comes bundled with halo. All you have to do is click multiplayer on the title screen, and it'll give you some options on joining games (Internet, Local Area Network, or direct IP address), or starting up a new game (Internet or LAN games).
Of course, unless you know some friends that have it as well, you'll probably be using the internet servers. All you have to do is pick a server/game that hasn't hit the max # of people in it, and you'll hop in.
I thought this game was pretty good, a good bargain for like $20 at least. Online play is free, by the way. Only problem is that most of the games are capture the flag in blood gulch on the net servers. And for myself, the whole site that the internet servers run on crashes a lot, and I get kicked out/can't pull up the pull server list often.
It's still fun though.

Dont really know what you mean, but its simple to set up. Just have internet, dont give anyone your cd key otherwise its worthless, and download gamespy which is part of the download that comes on the disk. Man I cant wait for halo 2 on PC.
