To those of you that have an ipod nano, I wanted to ask for one for christmas and I was wondering if you think this is worth asking for? And if it isn't, which one would be better? I have never had an MP3 player of any kind, so I wouldn't know how to use one. Are they easy to use? Please tell me all about the ipod nano.

I just got myself a brand new Nano and love it! They are very easy to use. You do need iTunes, which you can download from apple.com for free. Then you connect your iPod using the included cable and it will walk you through adding songs to it. I prefer to create playlists of songs and instead of auto syncing (where iTunes automatically adds your songs from your Music Library), I prefer to do it manually and drag the playlists I want onto the iPod (which shows in iTunes after it's connected).

I got a 4 gigabyte one which will hold 1000 songs, roughly. You can also put pictures on it but I mostly use mine for music. The colors are really cool...I got the pink one. They are small and because they have a flash drive, it can survive a drop or two but I baby mine so it doesn't get scratched. Go ahead and ask for one...I think you'll like it.

If you're wondering about quality of the player itself, I know many people who feel that brands such as Creative and iriver to be better. I would know, such I have an iPod myself. One consideration you should take, however, is how much music you either have or plan to have. I have a 30GB because I knew the amount of music I had wouldn't fit on even the largest Nano. Right now, I have about 2500 songs taking up about 10GB.

if your just interested in music, get the nano. but if your interested in having movies, video podcasts, etc, get a video. A four gig nano should be more than enough memory for all your songs.
