i would imagine that it's because your body wants to breathe, therefore causing the involuntary movement, but you don't want to breathe, which results in the voluntary contraction of your muscles. this, in turn, would cause a twitch-like movement. although honestly... i think somebody is cheating at the "hold-your-breath" game.

Your heart is probablly having a spasm because it was deprived of oxygen. Its very dangerous; you could put yourself in the hospital or worse. You shouldn`t do this, but if you do, please be careful. Make sure that you have at least one person above water and breathing at a time. That way if one of you guys stop breathing or something, someone can pull you out of the water without passing out.

YOU REALLY SHOULDN`T DO THIS!!!!!!!

strange...my max is like 2:16ish and my chest has never twitched....oh and by the way...holding your breath isnt dangerous (unless you are underwater) cuz breathing is an involuntary reflex and when you absolutely NEED air, you will breathe.....you might pass out afterwards, but you wont like die or something
