There are certainly better examples in history of American leaders, but the man came along at a tough time for this country. You have to respect him for staying fairly true to his values, like them or not. He has been pretty steadfast and unwavering in his beliefs, and alot of people don't like that. Most people want to believe that their opinions are the best and dislike those with differing opinions. Clinton tried to be all things to all people and history will eventually show him to be an ineffectual leader. While many things that our President does are not popular with many Americans and most people around the world, leading a great nation is not about popularity its about making tough choices and sticking to your guns when all about you are calling for your head. Popularity gets you into office but its the decisions you make that lead to your legacy. If this thing in Iraq is not taken to course then Bush's presidency will be seen in history as a failure, but if we do this thing bring freedom to an oppressed region, strike down radical fanaticism then he will be seen as a hero.
He took leadership of a fractured nation. Partisanship was and still is at an all-time high. Our military was in disarray after 8 years of the Clinton regime's neglect. A recession was taking hold of the country when he came to office and he has recieved blame for that but has been given no credit for the thriving economy we live in today.
As a conservative I can't say I like everything the man has done, I don't agree with his cowtowing to the religious right but that is modern American politics "stick with them that gotcha there". But I respect him for standing true to his ideals for standing up to bullies outside and within our country and for keeping his confidence in the face of more harsh criticism than any president ever has faced.

I do. Heeeeeeeeee's great. I trust my government to do what's best for me, keep me safe and control the rest of the world. I mean the patriot act. is OK. I mean who needs the constitution, I have not read it in years. And all those silly countries who want to run their own lives. Georgie knows what's best. I need some agency to tell me what to do, what to think, when to do it, how to do it and protect me from myself. Lions, tigers and bears oh my! The sky is falling.
"Any one who is willing to trade freedom for temporary safety deserves neither." Brother Benjamin Franklin. I'd rather be a free man in my grave then living like a puppet or a slave.
What do you really want?

It is not really a matter of liking George W. Bush. When it comes down to it, I guess I do. I don't think he is the best president, but honestly, there is only so much that someone could differ and I would still believe they were doing something. So, I guess, since I support the president, I like Bush.

I respect and like him as a person. But, I do disagree with him from time to time as the President of the United States of America in which he is that. Also, whether he makes a right or wrong decision, we should still support him in someway of our own choosing. Basically, we have the right to agree or disagree.

If he was never ever allowed to serve the public in any political or law enforcement way, I think he would be fun to drink with. He does have a good sense of humor and even in my weakest moments I cannot hate someone who makes me laugh. He is, however, the most deplorable leader in the history of the USA.

I don't. He is a social theocrat and fiscally irresponsible.
I'm a Reaganite so I believe in fiscal responsibility and separation of church and state. W believes in neither.

no offense to anyone who likes him but I personally hate him. He sent the U.S. to war for no reason what so ever. I have lost three family members for him, as well as five family friends. Yes they may have drafted but there was no reason to drag this out when they could have been done in Iraq after a few months, not years.... Well that is just my oppinoion so if anyone cares to differ please a-mail me at llamabean14@yahoo.com because I would really like to hear what you have to say. Also whoever wrote this question please contact me so you can share your feelings also. Thank you.... please contact me i woiuld really like to know-Thanx

I can't stand the man. Everytime I see him on tv, I can see the evil in his eyes. I have felt that way a long time before all this **** started. I can't wait for 2008.
