The co I work for gives 5 sick days a yr, but if you don't use them all in a yr they carry over to the next yr, but you can't accumulate more than 10. Another co I used to work for would pay you back a certain percentage if you didn't use all your sick days, giving people more incentive not to use them.

12. Atleast 1 a month. But 12 a year. And if they are more than 5 minuets late to work... take a day off.

I think it's nice if employers give any. Guess you guys who said lots all want a free ride. If you are in business for yourself you get NONE. Or as many as you are willing to do without pay for.
So my vote is you get no paid days off, but you are allowed as many as you need (if you are really sick) without pay. might be eligible for short term disability insurance.

None. It's way too easy to blow off work. If you don't get paid for being sick, then you're less likely to call in when you aren't really sick.
That's not to say that there shouldn't be vacation time, but your question was about sick time.

At my work we only get "1" and that sucks ~ which is why everyone always comes to work sick so that don't have to use up their vacation days ~ a person should get at least 3 or so.

Go with x# of days off and let them use them as necessary. Sick, personal, vacation, etc.
