Lol, I would like to know what server you are on... But I think its like CRACK.. You interact with people on Teamspeak, Ventrilio, and it really just become a addiction after hitting LVL 40.... RAID's hunts for epics, there is just simply always something to do.

It seems that is is a very addicting game, not only because of the core gameplay, but because of the thousands of players that play it. World of Warcraft may not get everyone addicted, but most people play it constantly. After a while, it's like a craving. Lets say somebody that plays World Of Warcraft is eating at a restertaunt with his buddies. All of a sudden, he stops talking to his friends, and goes home to play WoW (World of Warcraft for short). Soon he will lose those friends and become a hermit. Although I have never played World Of Warcraft, I really don't want to take a risk of losing my life.

destroy lives? that might be a bit too much. we nerds don't function too well in social situations, so years back we learned that we could play something all by ourselves that also appealed to our intellectual nature. game companies have done well as a result, and world of warcraft is one of many successful culminations of that. interestingly, wow is the only game i have encountered that is actually so well made that it has built in functions to NOT play it. it has a parent lock out function, it rewards you for logging off with an experience bonus, and it has a tooltip reminding you to go out and socialize in real life.
ironically, warcraft cannot be very successfully played without human interaction, so we nerds are still trying to get along and be polite and use manners, even though you don't see us doing it. we have no right to forget what is important, and we should be responsible, but if it's alright with you, in our free time, we will play among our accepting peers.

World of Warcraft is not addicting everyone who plays it. I know people whose entire life revovles around it but most people simply get on for an hour or two, attempt a quest or a raid then go back to real life.

Warcraft does not destroy lives. People choose to neglect their lives in deferrence to the game. Just like guns don't kill people, people use guns to kill people.
It's not the game, its the people playing it.
I am a long time Warcraft player, and it does not adversely affect my life at all. I am well adjusted, an adult, with a job and a family. I have lots of friends and plenty of interests outside the game.
This concept of the game "making" them lose interest in life is a farce. People make decisions to stop engaging in other activities.
