Lol, I am dragging my girl everywhere. Every school year, up to college, summers- back to the parents house. She also costs close to what I make in a year to keep her with me, not including vet bills. She eats grain w/ supplements, Glu injections, etc, and I eat ramen noodles everynight, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Am I insane or are there others out there, supporting their own habit, addiction, kid, whatever you want to call it :)

My 3 horses are my kids. I have 4 kids if you want to add my fiance to that list. lol. (such a kid himself haha).

I feed them, clean them, pay medical for them and they sometimes act like them too. Can be sweet one minute and extremly defiant the next. But, I love them to death and I wouldn't trade them for anything. Every person knows that they come first. They were there when I needed someone the most when no one was around.

I was there when my youngest gelding was born and my mare would not allow anyone but me with her. She would only allow me to be around her foal. From that moment, she let me know I am "her momma" to the fullest.

Just as a child to a mother, my horses are to me as I am to them. That trust barrier that a child and a parent has.

I also spoil the you know what out of them too! Birthday cakes to christmas presents, to being sung to, rub the belly as they laying down, toys everywhere......

They are living the life style if ask me. lol.

I have raised a foal, from 4 days old,I have spend many nights in the barn with a bottle of warm milk which if anyone has raised one has to be mixed with several other things, I have learned to give shots and general first aide, to my baby. So yes I do know how you feel about your kid lol enjoy it

Personally I think your loosing perspective on whats impractical.
What would happen if you got hurt do you have medical insurance? It not healthy either to live like that. Also you better think for the future. Better start saving money for retirement.
