Jay Buhner is not likely to get inducted. He played for 15 years while rarely hitting for a high average; his career batting average is .254 despite his hitting 310 home runs. His career just wasn't as stellar as one would hope it to be.

Jay Buhner's not making the Hall of Fame. But it's nice that we're all talking about Jay Buhner again. He was a good player and seemed like a cool guy.

Hope you aren't a Buhner fan. The only way he'll ever get into the Hall of Fame is if he pays admission. Everybody who has been retired for 5 years automatically goes on the ballot - most don't last beyond the first year.

No, but he had a good enough career to justify being on the ballot. Most of the players on the HOF ballot never get elected. There is a screening committee that exists to cut down the list a bit, but basically all they do is filter out the guys who weren't regular players or didn't do anything at all interesting during their careers. Pretty much any player who played at least 10 years and was above-average will appear on the ballot.

No he was the Bob Allison, Tom Brunansky of the 90s great player, great outfielder and seemed like an all around good guy but not enough stuff on his resume for HOF.

Absolutly not. The numbers just aren't there. He'll definatly be in the Mariner's Hall of Fame for the work he did here in Seattle.

Sorry but he is not the Hall of Fame kind of guy. I doubt he will go there. But he is in the Mariner Hall of Fame. Go M's.

He had a decent career but not even close to hall of fame potential

No. He was a good, solid every day player, but not a great one worthy of being in the Hall of Fame.

Chow!!
