cold fusion is basically a process of creating energy out of nothing, it could power entire cities while causing no pollution, no depletion of natural resources, and no harmful fumes, it is completely clean energy.

nothing...it is an illusion created by the movies (see "The Saint" for example)

To explain...Fusion is the power that powers the sun.

In physics, nuclear fusion is the process by which multiple nuclei join together to form a heavier nucleus. It is accompanied by the release or absorption of energy depending on the masses of the nuclei involved. Iron and nickel nuclei have the largest binding energies per nucleon of all nuclei and therefore are the most stable. The fusion of two nuclei lighter than iron or nickel generally releases energy while the fusion of nuclei heavier than iron or nickel absorbs energy; vice-versa for the reverse process, nuclear fission.

Cold fusion is a nuclear fusion reaction that has been reported to occur near room temperature and pressure using relatively simple devices. In nuclear fusion, two nuclei are forced to join together to form a heavier nucleus, and during that process, energy is released.

Cold fusion is the popular term used to refer to what is properly called "low energy nuclear reactions" (LENR), part of the field of "condensed matter nuclear science" (CMNS). Cold fusion was brought into popular consciousness by the controversy surrounding the Fleischmann-Pons experiment in March 1989. Numerous research efforts at the time attempted and were unable to replicate these results.[1] A panel organized by the U.S. Department of Energy concluded there was no convincing evidence that useful sources of energy would result from the phenomena attributed to cold fusion. By the mid-1990s, most governments and scientists in the United States and Europe had dismissed the concept as illusion.

i recently read that using nano -technology the principles of cold fusion could be applied to create perpetaul fuel cells , if this was really possible it would solve a lot of problems I suppose

If u tried and it worked it be like defusing a bomb and setting it off. The power would be much moor than u might think.
