LOTR story is too good, Almost all the good character not dead. Although dead but live again(Gandalf). It just the story want to said 'Dont worry kid nogoodcharacter will going to die in the wars, just enjoy and be happy'. Just kid will accept war without casualties, but with mature mind there is no such too good thing such as in LOTR.
Also at the part where the ghost fight for good, its like cheatcode, why don't they just ask those ghost to kill all the bad character seem that the ghost can't be kill. Here are my comparison for storyline LOTR 4/10 ----Warcraft-Reign Of Chaos 9/10-----Star Wars 6/10.

Many people die in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Maybe not the main characters, but plenty. A lot of good people died, not just evil characters.
But anyway, that's why it's fantasy and entertainment to begin with. We want good to prevail in movies because it helps us escape from the real world where too many good people die.

LotR was never targeted to a younger audience: the book is somehow dense and hard to follow by mostly children. IICR, I'd say "The hobbit" goes for this direction. I'd also say that many of the characters' situations and actions are too complicated for kids.
Besides, although the characters don't actually die while they're in the battle, we're told about the terrible consequences of his previous actions, like Frodo who never completely recovered of the experience of have carried the Ring.
And about Warcraft, it's not secret that it's inspired by LotR and the Tolkien universe.

The Lord of the Rings is one of the greatest novels of the 20th Century.
The story is not so much about who lives and who dies. It about friendship and the courage to face ultimate evil and defeat it. And this story is as meaningful today as it was when Tolkien wrote it.
As far as comparing the movie with a video game, I think almost every fantasy RPG copies some parts of LOTR - most have some combination of dwarves, wizards and/or elves and, during their quest, find various tools that will help them out of tight spots.
Finally, I would like to leave you with this thought;
"The day may come when the courage of men fails and we break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of men comes crashing down. But it is not this day. This day we fight. By all that you hold dear in this good earth, I bid you stand! Men of the West!"

No, you're wrong there buddy, yes it is a fact that there's things that looks kiddish but it is more than that.
I don't wanna write a wrong review because that's your point of view, like I did with Borat, for those people who can't take a joke.
My rate:
LOTR-9/10
Star Wars- 9/10
Warcraft- 9/10 (if you realize wc is also like lotr, elves, trees, etc.)

properly no SH*T LOTR wins in videos...each and every action picture is better or less 3-4 hrs lengthy and really battling scenes...and an fairly good plot yet from time to time puzzling.. its purely on what the guy likes....harry potter and LOTR....2 diverse issues. harry potter has better ideal books inspite of the actuality that and the films are ok...the more recent ones are not from now on as sturdy because the older ones IMO.
