Your parents should be concerned about you going away to college. Comprise with them. Go to a college in the city where you live. The next year if you can transfer to another college.
These days colleges can be very dangerous. Stay close to home the first year.

Tell them how it's your future and you want the best education for yourself. My mom is uneasy about me going to college in California. She worries......parents worry about a offspring's well-being and possible future problems all the time. You should also tell them that it's something that is very important to you. Parents like their child to have futuristic goals that are "important" to their lives. It makes a parent soften up in some cases. Give it a shot.

Get all the literature about the college and its strengths. Also, tell them it'll be good for you to broaden your horizons.
