You can with a "line in" feature. With that you may copy tapes and CDs directly into the player.

This is from the website I posted:

"The ZEN Nano Plus comes complete with an FM tuner, Voice recording and line-in encoding for direct connection and recording from any audio source. Directly record your music from a CD player - no computers needed!"

Generally, no you can't. The mp3 player needs to connect to a computer to get the music in the first place. Not only can you download music from the internet, but you can also copy your CD's to your computer, then transfer them to your player.

HOWEVER, Disney has a couple of players (Mix Sticks) geared toward kids that use memory cards called Mix Clips (like they use in cameras). You can buy pre-loaded memory cards, but the choices are pretty slim. In this case, you would not need a computer.

Well, the point of MP3 players is to play the vast amount of free music (or paid for, of course) that users download from the internet onto their computer....

So, the only way to get the music is via the computer, and the only way to transfer it to an Mp3 player is to use a computer...

Unless you have really nice friends who will let you uplaod their music!!!

What planet are you from? Or your just playing dumb? Ofcourse you can't use MP3 player without a computer. Where will you upload your songs? If your planning to buy an MP3 player, specially iPod. I suggest you buy a Computer and learn Windows or Mac, then buy MP3.

Nope you can't. You'll have to have a computer to upload songs into your MP3 before you can listen to them.
