This could be many things. What concerns me a little is the timing. Some women who have minor miscarriages or problem pregnancies with leaking placenta will get a period for 2 or 3 months before spotting and then the bleeding gets steadily worse.

Another concern is breakthrough bleeding. If you are on the pill and bleeding starts about a week after, it could mean that your pill is not working well for you or that you haven't been taking it exactly every 23 to 24 hours. This reduces the effectiveness, and can cause some hormonal imbalances.

Yet another concern, especially with the bleeding after intercourse, is endometriosis. You could also have severe vaginal dryness for some reason, or a bacterial infection, or a sexually transmitted disease. These could be the first signs of pelvic inflammatory disease, or ruptured lesions from genital warts, herpes, or chankre sores in the vagina or on the cervix.

All of these possibilities make it extremely important that you see your gynecologist as soon as possible. Ask for a pap smear, a visual check, and a full set of std examinations. Because it isn't so common to check for, but is a growing problem, specifically ask for the additional tests for non gonorrhea type chankres, and all types of herpes antibodies, as well as possible tinea fungus. Believe it or not, there is such a thing as 'athletes you know what'. Have your husband tested as well.

I would advise you to also refrain from having sex with your husband until you know what's going on. Even if it's just tinea fungus, it can be a very uncomfortable thing to pass to another person. Perfectly faithful people still get some diseases from various things. The genitals are a great place for microbes to grow.

I can't tell, are you passing blood when you urinate?? Or is it menstrual blood.

If it is when you urinate you need to get on cranberry concentrate to flush out your kidneys and bladder. (You can get a pint of cranberry concentrate at the health food store.) It will make two gallons. Drink 6 ounces before every meal and between meals. It will help with urinary problems.

If it is vaginal you might be smart to see your ob gyn.

Maybe you have some sort of a pelvic infection, or it could be urinary, Could be some sort of tear between the urinary tract and vagina. You should see a doctor, you don't want anything to happen that could cause you to not be able to have children in the future.

GO TO A DOCTOR!!! This is something that could be minor and easily fixed, or it could be the begining signs of something serious. A doctor will know and then let you know and get you on a treatment plan that will fix you up
