+ basically the discovery process is a system that a defendant or a plaintiff wants to know info they must request the information through the discovery process. If you are informed that a question has been asked you have a certain amount of time to respond. You need to tell the truth as you can be charged with the crime of perjury if you lie. The same works either way for both sides. You can ask for an employers name, and contact info a copy of the last several years of pay receipts, tax returns, Schools and courses a minor child is attending and just about anything that might be pertinent to your case. If there is no response within the required time a judgment can be had from the court for proof, or you can make up your own theory as to what is happening. Suppose that your ex won had won the lottery and was not going to tell you so that they could avoid paying you child support. Those are the kind of things that can be discovered. (If you ask the right questions)
