Mitosis produces two cells which are genetically identical to the original one. There is no exchange of genes between two organisms, and so mitosis is a type of asexual reproduction.

yep, asexual, when they split in two and are the same as they were before exept that the cell is smaller and split in two. you body cells go through this a lot, and bacteria, archea and single celled organisms usually go through this by binary fission.
