Multiple things can cause your hair to fall out. Stress is a big one. If hairloss tends to happen more than just when you're stressed, it could be your shampoo isn't balanced for your hair. My friend and I used to use Herbal Essences and half of our hair literally fell out. She switched to Garnier which works for her now, but still makes my hair fall out some, so I switched to John Frieda. The guy who cuts my hair noticed immediately when I switched, said my hair felt much stronger and healthier.
He also recommended going to a health food store or a beauty supply store such as Sally and get vitamins to make my hair stronger. I attached a link listing vitamins that are important for your hair.

Stress, lack of vitamins and minerals as well as very strong hair formula can cause excessive hair fall. I was also told that pregnancy and child birth can also make your hair fall.
Be gentle to your hair. Don't put it into a tight ponytail. Try to keep it short, and go easy on the hair conditioner (about once a week would do or none at all). Vitamin supplements would also help.
A consultation with the dermatologist might greatly help. The dermatologist could give you a hair growth shampoo. However if your family has a history of thin hair, there's not much anyone can do except if you opt for a hair transplant.
Hope this helps.

I would say the same as the other people. Stress and hormones and thyroid problems. But if your hair is falling out in more than just a couple strands here and there, you might want to go to your doctor to check for alapesia. Its a disorder where you lose your hair. There is a cure. My cousin had it for a year. All of her hair fell out over time, but the medicines they gave her helped it to grow back.

Go to see your doctor. When it happened to me it was because of a lack of iron, after a while on iron tablets it stopped. Not saying its iron thats making yours fall out but they will do blood tests to find out what is causing it. The main thing to do, and I know this is hard, is you have to stop freaking out as apparently stress can make it worse. Go to your doctors as soon as possible because once you know whats causing it, it stops you worrying so much. I do feel for you because I know how scary it feels x

go to a hair dresser first, she can check your scalp for any balding areas. If there are, go to your dermatologist who can help you to regain your hair. Usually some injections may be necessary but these will help your hair to start growing again and you can see the difference in about 6 months

If you are taking vitamins, watch out that you aren't consuming too much selenium...it can cause this temporary problem. Also, hair loss can be a result of hormone cycles. Best to call your doctor and ask.

Stress, chemicals, or an allergic reaction to some hair care product you may be using. See a dermatologist.

It's usually stress, hormone, or thyroid related. See a doctor to determine which cause so you can get it stopped!
