The lower house of Congress is called the House of Representatives. Each Representative stands for election every two years. There are a total of 425 Representatives. In the House, representation is based on population, but each state gets at least one.
The upper house is called the Senate. There are 100 members, two from each state. Senators each serve a six-year term, but they are staggered so that only one third of the senators are up for election every two years. Senators were originally elected by the state legislatures, but with the passage of the 17th amendment, they are now popularly elected just like representatives.

The House of Representatives and the Senate. Each are done by voting. Representatives have a two-year term. Senators have a six year term. It used to be done that the electorate would vote for the house and then the house would vote on the senate, but due to corruption, that practice was undone.

The Senate and House of Representatives. They're both elected by their area. 2 senators per state, making 100. I forget how many Representatives there are, but their state number depends on the population. Hope that helps :) Google it if you need more..
