I know that in the UK it usually starts with "07"but I don't know what the american code starts with. Please reply if you know. Thanks.

There is no separate code for mobiles in the US. The country code for all numbers (land and mobile) in the US, however, is 1.

Unlike other countries, the US uses a different dialing system than the rest of the world. Our universal country code is +1. We don't differentiate between mobile and landlines. Some of us can sometimes tell by the use of a "new" prefix and area code...but, there is no hardcore way of determining.

then the area code like 503 or 559 or something like that
then the 7 digit number
