You have to have a prescription to get birth control pills. Go to a clinic to discuss it with a doctor. They'll be better able to determine your situation.
However, be aware that almost half the states have some restrictions on prescribing birth control for minors. Here's a PDF file that lists the states and their restrictions:

While birth control pills are most probably safe for a thirteen year old, they are something that requires a doctors okay and parent permission. They really aren't that good an option for you, 1you still get a period
2 They're costly
3 They do cause side effects that are a pain in the but sometimes
4 Mlost importantly, they are not the best option.
Try tampons.

As far as I know they generally don't have bad side effects for most people, although you should look up the brands you're considering on the Internet before you start taking them. I highly doubt any of them would make you grow more slowly.
The thing I'm really concerned about is, why are you considering having sex if you're only 13? You should wait a while, let your body and mind mature a little more.

Instead of getting the pill and waiting A MONTH for the change to take effect, why not wear tampons instead?
They're cheaper and are a quicker fix to your problem.
Thirteen is too young to be taking birth control pills. Your body is not finished growing yet both physically and womanly.
Most Gyns will not prescribe the pill to a thirteen year old girl and for the reason you have given.

You don't need to take birth control pills to go swimming, beside you are still very young to even think of such. Please don't hurt your parents. They love so much. My advise is to stay out of trouble and control yourself until you are old enough. Good luck.

NOOO!!!!
Wait untill the girls 15 birthday. 15 is when they feel more comfortable doing that kind of thing. 13 is way too young, just deal with your period like everyone else and your way too young to have sex!!
(If it is you)

yes, it's safe for anyone of any age. sometimes BC is given to girls to help menstruate normally. professional swimmers have a hard time getting their monthly thing so BC for you is perfectly fine.
