My hair is very thick. But not curly. But when I take a shower and I go to sleep, in the morning it is a crazy poofball!!!! I've tried straightening it, and the best results I've gotten were from the salon. Are there any hairstyles or tips you can offer me?

Yes. Do not fall asleep with wet or damp hair. Why not wash it in the morning instead?

Try putting it in a braid or two before you go to bed (but not if it's still mainly wet--it'll just stay wet overnight. Do it if it's damp.)

Your hair might be a little wavy--sometimes, wavy hair is almost straight, but it gets very unruly and hard to handle. If my hair is shorter (like, above my shoulders), it's almost straight, but when it gets longer, it's wavy. It's almost straight on top and almost curly at the ends...annoying.

I do the Curly Girl routine (from the book by Lorraine Massey.) No shampoo unless your hair is super-dirty or the roots are greasy (my roots are, so I use shampoo on the roots and conditioner on the rest.) Is your hair dry? Make sure you address that--dry hair is always way harder to handle because it absorbs humidity from the air and gets frizzy and crazy. I like hot oil for when my ends get dry and crispy.

Trim as needed. So...where was I? Oh, yeah. Use conditioner and don't rinse it all the way out. That just snarls up your hair and makes it more tangly. Put on a light gel through your hair after you towel-dry it. Not enough to make it crunchy, just enough to make it behave.

The book has a lot of good info and I totally recommend it.

Of course your hair looks good when you go to the salon! If we could do that at home, there'd be no reason to go pay somebody to do it, now would there? I love getting blow-outs and I wish my hair were either straight or curly (it's some of both.) I wouldn't thin it--it usually winds up looking like you have weird layers. Try some anti-frizz cream if the gel isn't heavy enough.

The next time you get a cut, have them texture your hair, this will thin it down some. You can also try some products that will help you. If your using a flat iron, try using some flat iron spray. Matrix has 1 in it's Sleek look line or Chi also has one. Then for a more textured or pieced look, use some wax or pomade. Ask your stylist to help you choose and use these products, they are the ones that you are paying for your style. Good luck!!

Get you hairdresser to put long layers through your hair to thin it out.
Use a good conditioner and then rub a serum like Frizz-Ease through it when it's wet.
Don't let your hair dry naturally, wash it in the mornings and blow dry it over a round brush.
Invest in good quality straighteners: solid ceramic with a top temperature of 200C+. Don't burn yourself though!
Run the straighteners through it nice and slowly and smoothly. Do smaller sections and use a comb to keep it straight as you do it.
The rub a little shining gel through it to flatten down any strays and give the ends texture.
Ta-da!

attempt putting it in a braid or 2 earlier you bypass to mattress (yet now no longer if that is nonetheless particularly moist--it is going to easily stay moist in one day. Do it if that is damp.) Your hair might want to correctly be somewhat wavy--particularly circumstances, wavy hair is purely about directly, even besides the actual undeniable actuality that it receives very unruly and not in any respect worry-free to address. If my hair is shorter (like, above my shoulders), that is purely about directly, yet at the same time as it receives longer, that is wavy. that is purely about directly on appropriate and just about curly on the ends...annoying. I do the Curly woman recurring (from the e book with the help of Lorraine Massey.) No shampoo except your hair is outstanding-dirty or the roots are greasy (my roots are, so i take advantage of shampoo on the roots and conditioner at something.) Is your hair dry? make sure you cope with that--dry hair is mostly a approaches better sturdy to address by way of very actuality it absorbs humidity from the air and receives frizzy and loopy. i respect warmth oil for at the same time as my ends get dry and crispy. Trim as needed. So...the position change into I? Oh, yeah. Use conditioner and do not rinse it each and every and each and every of ways out. That purely snarls up your hair and makes it better tangly. placed on a smooth gel with the help of your hair once you towel-dry it. now no longer sufficient to make it crunchy, only sufficient to make it behave. The e book has a large style of sturdy information and that i thoroughly advise it. of direction your hair looks sturdy once you bypass to the salon! If shall we attempt this at abode, there'd be no reason to bypass pay someone to do it, now might want to there? i respect getting blow-outs and that i want my hair were both directly or curly (that is fairly some both.) i does no longer skinny it--it continuously winds up searching which include you've unusual layers. attempt some anti-frizz cream if the gel isn't heavy sufficient.

that happened to me. I started taking showers in the morning. I get up pretty early, but it's worth it because my hair ends up almost perfect everyday! (almost. not quite. I'm not conceded enough to claim my hair is perfect. nuh-uh.) But I can understand if you don't want to get up every morning or if you're concerned that your hair will be wet when you go to whatever every day. So you can blow-dry it after you take a shower, and try to lay flat on it, rather than just lay on it. and sleep on your side, if you can.

If you get it cut into layers, it will be thinner. You should use quite a bit of conditioner, and antifrizz.
HOPE THIS HELPS!
