we tried dragging and dropping. it doesn't work! There are no songs in the library anymore or in recently added so it has to be straight from her ipod to mine. how do i do it??

I don't think you can do it with itunes. You should try another program like realplayer. Thats what I use and it lets me get songs from other ipods.

get the program anapod explorer. its the easiest way to transfer songs to and from ipods. even videos

You can get an external hard drive. When you get one, you can download the content you want from your sister's iPod library onto it. Then, from the content that you put onto it, you can transfer it to your iTunes library.

GOOD LUCK I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM THERE IS NO WAY UNLESS YOU HAVE THE SONGS SAVED ON ITUNES ...I THINK THERE IS A PROGRAM TO DO THIS SO I WAS TOLD BUT I HAVE YET TO FIND IT.
