what should be the caloric intake of a pregnant woman? 2,000? 2,300? i read in a health book that it only needs to be 300 extra. How many more calories did you eat when you were pregnant?

k I know that this really isn't answering the question but I heard from a nutritionist that you really shouldn't even be looking at calories when your pregnate. But to eat when you get hungry but only small portions like half a bagel then a few hours later have a apple or some carrots and dips. But she goes on saying that you really should break everything down to eating every few hours but to add something extra like a extra glass of orange juice or a extra few strawberries before bed. You get my drift. And this is where exercise is important when your pregnate and why you shouldn't count calories, because if you exercise regularly and eat healthy your baby will be fine.

It is always best to check with your doctor. Most woman are told about 2000-2200 cals per day during pregnancy, depending on pre-pregnancy weight/height.
